The development was designed as a purpose-built facility for Honda Logistics UK, the distribution and logistics arm of the Swindon-based car manufacturer.
The building represents a complex, but sophisticated, state-of-the-art logistics facility comprising 32,516 sq m (350,000 sq ft) of floor space. There are 1,951 sq m (21,000 sq ft) of office and amenity areas, including fully-equipped staff welfare facilities and a full range of administrative accommodation. In addition, Honda required a mezzanine space of 2,175 sq m (23,400 sq ft) within the warehouse, along with despatch offices and extensive plant areas. The warehouse is heated with gas fired ambient heaters, and the contract also included racking along with an area of strengthened slab to accommodate future racking.
