IAS AWARDS 2019

Michael Sparks Associates are proud to announce the first prize honours for two of our schemes at The 2019 Industrial Agents Society Awards, held on Thursday 26th September at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square.

Deal of the Year over 250,000 sq ft went to Manse Opus’ project for Meggitt at Prospero Ansty, for which Michael Sparks Associates are the architects. The building will form the main UK manufacturing base for the UK aerospace company, Meggitt, with a total floor area of 40,952 sq m (450,808 sq ft), including offices totalling 6,826 sq m (73,478 sq ft). The project also includes full fit out, and will complete in early in 2020.

The award for the Best Overall Scheme – Multi-let Industrial Estate went to developer Prologis for Prologis Park, Hemel Hempstead, for which Michael Sparks Associates were the architects. The new industrial/logistics development consists of 10 units from 11,173 to 168,873 sq ft located at Maylands Gateway, within the town’s new Enviro-tech Enterprise Zone. When complete, the park will provide up to 585,000 sq ft of industrial and distribution space, together with a £2.5 million investment in local highway infrastructure. Five of the currently built nine units have been let and works to the final build to suit unit is due to start later this year.
