Michael Sparks Associates were appointed by Bericote to re-develop part of the former Littlebrook Power Station site on the river Thames in Dartford, to provide 41,806 sq m of B8 floor space. The project comprises a standalone speculative industrial unit with three storey ancillary office accommodation, a warehouse with a haunch of 21m, improved landscape to the existing riverside footpath along with a new flood defence wall. The facility offers a spectacular view of the river Thames, including a balcony and full height curtain wall to the offices maximising natural light as well canopies and brise soleil providing dynamic architectural features. The Project Completion was achieved successfully within 8-month Design and Built contract achieving BREEAM ‘Excellent’ including the use of photovoltaic and solar thermal installations.
