Planning Permission Granted : Section 42 Permission secured 2020 / Matters Specified by Condition applications – ongoing
- The Westway Distribution Park is an existing industrial and warehouse site located to the east of Glasgow Airport with a number of plots that are either vacant or suitable for redevelopment for various uses. The site benefitted from an existing Planning Permission in Principle that related to various development plots within the site and also required financial contributions to off-site highway works. This existing permission fixed the layout for these plots, which did not provide sufficient flexibility for occupational demand.
- MSA undertook pre-application consultation with Renfrewshire Council as well as Transport Scotland to vary the existing Permission in Principle and to secure a more flexible planning framework for future development, as well as increasing the maximum allowable floorspace at the site and demonstrating that the impact on highways was lower than originally assumed, which removed the need for the legal agreement
- The first phase of the new development is currently on site following the submission of applications to deal with Matters Specified by Conditions.
